Chess Classes in Vesu, Surat
Surat Chess Club is a Vesu chess academy. Our classroom is on the first floor of Canal Walkk Shoppers on VIP Road, directly opposite L.P. Savani School, so for most Vesu families the club is a few minutes from home and school. Children and adults learn over real boards, in small batches, from a FIDE-rated head coach. We are also the only chess academy in Surat with a titled coach, FIDE Master Jeet Jain.
Finding the club in Vesu
Come along VIP Road to L.P. Savani School. Canal Walkk Shoppers is the building directly opposite the school, and the club is on the first floor, unit UG 13. On Google Maps, search "Surat Chess Club": the pin is on our door, not the building entrance. Parking is available outside.
Being in Vesu means the school-day timing is easy. Children can come straight from school to a weekday batch between 4:00 and 8:00 PM and still be home for dinner. Families who keep school evenings free choose the Saturday or Sunday morning batches instead.

What Vesu families get at Surat Chess Club
Rushi Shah, founder and FIDE-rated head coach, leads every Knight, Rook and Queen batch himself. Tournament players work with FM Jeet Jain (2312), the only titled chess coach in Surat.
Foundation, Development and Mastery, each with its own workbook, so you always know where your child is and what comes next. See the curriculum.
Every session is over the board with a clock, in a batch small enough that the coach reaches every student during practice.
Children from age four on the kids' programme; working adults and parents in the adults batch, Tuesday to Saturday 7:00–8:00 PM.
Where your child starts
The free trial class doubles as a short assessment, so we can place each student in the right batch from day one.
The beginner classes teach how the pieces move, checkmate and simple tactics through games and puzzles.
The intermediate programme builds tactics, calculation, openings and endgame technique.
Advanced training and the King Plan with FM Jeet Jain prepare players for rated events.
Short chess camps run in school holidays at the same classroom, starting with the Diwali Chess Camps 2026.
