What “international” chess coaching actually means

Plenty of classes call themselves international. In chess the word has a precise meaning: the international federation, FIDE, its ratings and its titles. Here is what that looks like in our classroom.

A FIDE title

FIDE Master is a lifetime title awarded by FIDE, the world chess federation, and it sits on a public record anyone can check. No other chess academy in Surat has a titled player coaching its students.

International norms

An International Master norm is earned by performing at IM level in an international tournament against titled and foreign opponents. Jeet holds two.

FIDE-rated training

Training is built around FIDE-rated play: classical time controls, notation, opening preparation for named events, and analysis of the student's own rated games.

A coach who still competes

Jeet still competes, so the preparation methods students learn are the ones he uses himself, not ones read about in a book.

International chess coaching — questions

Is there a FIDE Master coaching chess in Surat?

What does international chess coaching mean?
Coaching aimed at FIDE-rated play — the international federation's ratings, titles and tournaments — from a coach who holds a FIDE title and plays international events himself. It covers classical-game preparation, openings for specific events, endgames, calculation and analysis of your own rated games.
Who can join FM Jeet Jain's King Plan?
Serious tournament players, typically FIDE-rated between 1400 and 2000, or unrated players of comparable strength shown in an admission assessment. Players below that level start in the Knight, Rook or Queen Plan and move up when the coach says they are ready.
When and where are the classes, and what do they cost?
Every Monday, 6:00 to 7:00 PM or 7:00 to 8:00 PM, offline at our classroom in Vesu, Surat (Canal Walkk Shoppers, VIP Road, opposite L.P. Savani School). The King Plan is ₹7,999 for 3 months (₹15,999 for both hours) and can be taken on its own or with any other plan.
Is advanced chess coaching available for players who are not yet rated?
Yes. The Queen Plan is our advanced daily class for tournament-track players working towards their first rating, and the advanced course lists every topic covered.
Can I try a class first?
Yes. Your first class is a free trial. Message us on WhatsApp with your current level and recent tournaments, and we will suggest the right plan.
